“Twice Blest”: Awakening Compassion’s Promise
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
History suggests that the Church has best communicated the love of God when believers, “as the gentle rain of heaven,” have carried out the corporeal works of mercy. A citywide revival cannot be fully realized without renewing a global mission to the poor, oppressed and weak. Practitioners in the fields of emergency relief, community development, benevolence outreach and social justice will have a rare opportunity for collaboration and fellowship with like-minded local, national and international leaders. This interactive track will involve a series of communicators, each with a unique perspective on this topic. Our backdrop will be a luncheon at the historic Bowery Mission where there will be music, special presentations and a time to honor historic and present day compassion ministries that impact
