“Twice Blest”: Awakening Compassion’s Promise

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

History suggests that the Church has best communicated the love of God when believers, “as the gentle rain of heaven,” have carried out the corporeal works of mercy. A citywide revival cannot be fully realized without renewing a global mission to the poor, oppressed and weak. Practitioners in the fields of emergency relief, community development, benevolence outreach and social justice will have a rare opportunity for collaboration and fellowship with like-minded local, national and international leaders. This interactive track will involve a series of communicators, each with a unique perspective on this topic. Our backdrop will be a luncheon at the historic Bowery Mission where there will be music, special presentations and a time to honor historic and present day compassion ministries that impact New York City. Our occasion together will convey a prophetic blessing to those that give help and hope and for those that receive care and support in Christ’s name. As we join our hearts in focused prayer, we will look to the future in light of what we have learned and experienced together in this specialized learning track.
